Syangja produces oranges worth Rs 1.14 billion

By Arjun Kafle, Syangja, Dec. 23: The production of oranges has increased massively in Syanja, a leading district for orange production.  

This year oranges of RS 1.14 billion have been produced which was 386 million and 800 thousand higher than the last year. 


Prime Minister Agriculture modernization Orange Super Zone's Senior Agriculture Development Officer, Madhav Prasad Lamsal has informed that in comparison to last year, per hector 6.1 per cent more oranges have been produced this year.

Lamsal has said that orange production has increased as adequate rainfall was recorded in monsoon, and no insects and hailstorms damaged the fruits. 


Syangja's oranges have reached to markets of Kathmandu, Butwal, Narayanghat and Pokhara among others.

Putalibazaar, Waling, Bhirkot and Galyang Municipalities, Phedikhola, Biruwa, Arjun Chaupari, Andhikhola and Harinas Rural Municipalities are the pocket areas for the orange production.
