By Our Correspondent,Sainamaina, Dec. 21: Sainamaina Municipality has provided land ownership certificates to the landless people of Dudharakshya and Gajedi regions amid a programme on Tuesday.

A total of 625 individuals received the land ownership certificates in the village block. The certificates were handed over jointly by Sainamaina’s Mayor Phanendra Prasad Sharma, Deputy Mayor Bina Magar, and officials from Rupandehi’s Survey Office.

The final homework to provide the certificates had started in mid-November.

The locals have expressed happiness after receiving the land ownership certificate stating that they could finally call the lands they were living on for years their own.

“The municipality has been able to provide the ownership rights to the people. They had been awaiting this certificate for years. We are happy we could help them,” said Mayor Sharma.

After the formation of the new local government in May this year, the authorities had intensified the process to hand over the ownership certificates to the landless people at the earliest.

Mayor Sharma also informed that the process to provide the ownership certificates to other people was also underway. Survey works are said to be going on in Wards 1, 7 and 8 of Sainamaina.
