Lamjung, Dec 17: The Mid Marsyangdi Hydropower's
energy production has declined with the receding water level in the Marsyangdi
River.
Hydropower with the capacity of
generating 70 MW of electricity is now producing 48MW electricity a day.
Hydropower centre's chief Pavan
Basnet informed, "Till a month back, the water used to waste, but it has
declined now, thereby reducing energy production. The declining trend will
continue for two more months."
The power generation may decline as
low as 26 MW.
There are two turbines each with
the capacity to run 35 MW of electricity.
The construction of hydropower
had begun in 2000 and was completed in 2008. It was constructed at the cost of Rs
27.20 billion.
In addition to this hydropower,
other hydro powers are also witnessing a decline in power production. (RSS)
