Impeachment motion against suspended CJ still valid: Govt. spokesperson

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 7: Government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has viewed that the impeachment motion against Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana is still valid.

The government spokesperson said so while responding to the queries at a press meeting held today to make public the Cabinet decisions held on Tuesday.

He said the upcoming meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) will deliberate on the impeachment motion against CJ Rana.

“The erstwhile HoR held a discussion on the impeachment motion against the suspended CJ. A report about the discussion has been submitted to the HoR. The report will be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the HoR, and the issue is still valid because the report is the asset of the sovereign parliament so is the issue of impeachment. The upcoming meeting of the HoR will deliberate on the issue of impeachment and a decision will be taken through the same deliberations,” the minister said.
