Dolakha, Dec 3: CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate for the member to the House of Representatives in Dolakha, Ganga Karki, is maintaining his lead in the vote count as of Saturday night.
According to Chief Returning Officer Dilliratna Shrestha, out of 27,417 counted so far, Karki has received 12,490 votes. His closest rival Bal Krishna Siwakoti of the CPN (UML) got 11,406 votes.
Similarly, NC candidate Kundan Raj Kafle also kept on leading the vote count for Province Assembly (1). He has so far secured 10,669 votes while Kafle’s closest competitor Nar Bahadur Shrestha of the CPN (UML) garnered 9,211 votes.
In Province Assembly (2), UML candidate Bharat KC has obtained 12,337 votes while his closest rival NC’s Barma Lama secured 12,220 votes.
In Dolakha district, reelection was held in 10 different polling centres on Thursday following a dispute after the November 20 elections. The reelection was conducted in polling centres ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ of Baiteshwor Secondary School in Baiteshwor Rural Municipality and in polling centres ‘A’ and ‘B’ of Jana Jyoti Secondary School of the Baiteshwor-2. Likewise, reelection was held in polling centres ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ of Kalidhunga Secondary School of the Baiteshwor-3.
Similarly, the reelection was held in polling centres ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ at the Japhe-based Health Post in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-3.
The district has a HoR seat with 94 polling stations and 195 polling centres. With a total of 161,450 voters, 21 candidates are vying for the HoR seat in the district including seven independent and 14 political parties’ candidates.(RSS)
