‘No arable land in KMC’

BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, Nov. 24: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Land Use Council on Wednesday announced that there is no arable land within the metropolis. 

A meeting of the council chaired by the KMC Mayor Balendra Shah concluded  that there was no arable land in the metropolis. KMC chief administration officer and member secretary of the council Basanta Adhikari informed that the decision was made on the recommendation of the Land Use Implementation Committee.

Amid the meeting, Mayor Shah said that the land within the metropolis has been categorised as the non-agricultural and all land will be released for the plotting and property division.

Earlier, on October 19 a sub-committee for Land Use Implementation was formed to identity arable and non-arable land in all wards.
