Vote counting starts in Lamjung

Lamjung, Nov 21: The counting of votes under the election to the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly has started today afternoon in Lamjung district. The election was held on Sunday.     

Chief of the District Election Office, Narayan Prasad Sapkota said that the vote counting is taking place at eight separate spots on the premises of the Chief Election Officer's office. An election was held in Lamjung for one seat in the HoR and two seats in the Province Assembly.     

Out of 133 thousand 559 voters, including 42 thousand 825 females and 37 thousand 985 males, in the district, a total 80 thousand 917 votes were cast. One hundred and twenty-eight polling stations and 186 polling centres were managed throughout the district for voting. The voter turnout in the district was 60.59 per cent, according to preliminary estimates. (RSS)
