By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 19: Women have been given responsibility for one polling station of Khotang for Sunday’s election of members of the House of Representatives (HOR) and Provincial Assembly (PA).
Polling officers, assistant polling officers, assistant staff, and helpers, all are women.
Women have been given charge in all posts for conducting the election on November, 20, in the pooling station of Saraswoti Secondary School “Kha” located at Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi, Khotang. Sharmila Rai is taking the responsibility of polling officer, Iran Rai, Assistant polling Officer, Aruna Baniya, Kalpana Pokhrel, Devi Rai, Sabita Dhakal, and Sita Yadav Assistant Staff, and Saraswoti Dahal, helper.
Ramkanta Yadav, Assistant Polling Officer, said that women have been deputed as polling officers in 15 polling stations of the district.
1,558 officers and 1,800 security personnel have been deployed in Khotang for the election. Likewise, there are 136 polling stations, 194 polling centers, and two temporary polling stations. There are a total of 142,792 voters in the district.
