Jaleshwor, Nov. 5: Candidates for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly slated for November 20 have intensified election campaign to convince voters in their favour in Mahottari since Thursday.

The candidates, their supporting leaders and cadres are busy meeting the voters and conducting election meetings, gatherings and discussions in their constituency area.

Even the rural areas of the district where only a few people used to be seen in the past have become crowded with frequent visits of the election candidates and their supporters.

Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal (LOSAPA) chairman Mahantha Thakur is contesting for the second time from Constituency-3 of Mahottari.

Likewise, LOSAPA leader Sharat Singh Bhandari is the common candidate of ruling alliance in Constituency-2 while CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Giriraj Mani Pokhrel is contesting the election from Constituency-1. Likewise, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal’s Dr. Surendra Yadav is a candidate in Constituency-4.

It is seen that the main competition in the election will be between the candidates of the five party alliance of ruling parties and the LOSAPA and the alliance of CPN-UML and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal in all the four constituencies.

Candidacy of leader Sharat Singh Bhandari who had won election multiple times and served as minister in 12 different ministries, of leader Mahanta Thakur from LOSAPA and of Giriraj Mani Pokhrel of the Maoist Centre has drawn the attention of more people.

In Mahottari, the old candidates are trying to influence the national politics and maintain their reputation by winning, while the new and independent candidates are trying to enter the national politics by winning the election. There are 336,095 voters in the district.
