Banke Red Cross distributes relief to 928 flood-hit families

Nepalgunj, Oct. 14: Relief distribution to the flood victims of Banke has begun.  Many people in Banke district have been affected by the floods and inundation triggered by the recent rains.

Nepal Red Cross Society Banke branch has said it has started distributing relief to the communities affected by floods and inundation.

In a joint cooperation of Nepal Red Cross Society Banke and World Food Programme, each of the 928 families in Ward No 1 of Daduwa Rural Municipality and Ward No. 5 and 6 of Narainapur Rural Municipality were provided the relief amount of Rs. 15,000 in cash.

Aziz Ahmed Siddiqui, Chief of Red Cross Society Banke Branch, said that 928 households affected by the floods and inundation received the relief amount. He said that more than 2,000 more families would be provided with the relief in cash and the relief distribution work would continue also on Friday.

Likewise, with the help of Red Cross Society and UNICEF Nepal, it distributed tarpaulins, health kits, and mosquito nets to 50 families of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-20.
