Tourism ministry awards Bungy Nepal

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has awarded the Pokhara-based Bungy Nepal on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The company was awarded for its contributions to the advancement of adventure sports in Nepal.

Suresh Adhikari, secretary of the ministry, awarded Santosh Bhattarai, president of Bungy Nepal, a certificate of recognition and a ceremonial scarf in a programme organised in the capital Kathmandu on Tuesday. 

Bhattarai is an internationally-acclaimed bungee master and is credited with being one of the pioneers of bungee jumping in Nepal.

 He has helped the government draft policies to make bungee jumping in the country fun and safe and has more than a decade of experience in adventure sports not only in Nepal but also in China, Indonesia, Japan and Russia. Bungy Nepal is a franchisee of a multinational adventure sports company. It was established last year.
