Goat smuggling through India left local goat Unsold

By Janu Pandey, Kapilvastu, Sept 29: The dismal sales of goat even during Dashain festival have raised the concern of goat farmers.

Gynandra Lamichhane of Nandakali Goat Farm located in Shivraj Municipality-5 complained that goats smuggle through India are getting sold in lower price than in local goat. Consequently, it has been creating unfair challenge for local sellers.

Lamichhane informed that such goat are getting supplied to  Kathmandu, Pokhara producing counterfeit bill.

Locals informed that smugglers are more active specifically in festive season.

Chairperson of Indrota Pasu Hatbazar management committee Abdul Kuddus informed that the open market opens each Tuesday.

He informed that buyers and sellers reach from Dang, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi for the trading.
