Nepal International Theatre Festival from Nov 25

Kathmandu, Sept 27 : The second edition of the Nepal International Theatre Festival is scheduled from November 25 to December 3 at the Mandala Theatre.  

At a press conference held in Kathmandu on Monday, it was informed that 23 plays from 16 countries would be staged during the festival.

Among 23 dramas participating in the festival, five will be from Nepal. 

In the nine-day festival, which is going to be held with the slogan Theatre for social transformation: Celebrating  diversity, plays from the US, UK, Russia, Spain, Italy, Armenia, Argentina, Egypt, Uruguay, Nigeria, Belarus, India, Bhutan and Sri Lankan will be staged.

Artistes and actors from India, Uruguay, Cambodia and other countries will conduct workshops and training during the festival, said the organiser. 

Cultural displays, interactions and discussions will also be held.

According to organiser, they will spend Rs. 15 million to host the festival.

Bijaya Karki, coordinator of the festival, said that the festival would be a big and achievement for Nepal.
