300 new cases, 164 recoveries in 24 hours

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sep. 5: With 300 new cases (RT-PCR and antigen tests combined) of COVID-19 confirmed on Tuesday, the nation's novel coronavirus tally has reached 998,167.

In 1,981 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 177 people were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its regular update on Tuesday.

Likewise, the virus infection was detected in 123 people in 2,609 antigen tests performed in the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are 2,457 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 149 are admitted to institutional isolation while 2,308 patients are placed in home isolation. Out of which 35 are in ICU and three are on ventilator support.  

Meanwhile, 164 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours.

Nepal has now recorded 983,703 cases of recovery, and the recovery rate is at 98.6 per cent. 

No fatalities related to COVID-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the MoHP. So far, Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has reached 12,007.
