Ruling coalition to decide seats by Tuesday

Kathmandu, Sept 4 :  A meeting of the top party leaders and the seat-sharing task force of the ruling five parties on Sunday concluded that the seat-sharing issue would be sorted out in two days.

After the meeting held in Baluwatar,  taskforce member and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that the meeting did not reach any conclusion as discussions on seat sharing were still underway.

He informed me that the meeting of the task force scheduled for Monday and Tuesday would conclude the issue.

“The meeting is continuing. The task force will hold a meeting on Monday. We will reach a conclusion and submit our decision to the top leaders on Tuesday,” he said.

He informed that the meeting was discussing the seat-sharing issue and the sharing would be justifiable, and respectful and each party would find a win-win situation. 

Earlier in the morning, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal

Dahal Prachanda held a meeting and discussed the electoral alliance and other contemporary political issues.

The meeting between Deuba, who is also Nepali Congress president, 

and Prachanda was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

They dwelt on the issue of seat sharing among five ruling parties for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies. They agreed to finalize seat-sharing issues at the earliest.

The seat sharing task force of five parties has been working on the seat sharing issue. However, it was unable to reach any conclusion as the parties did not budge their stance.
