By TRN Online, Hetauda, Aug. 1: Two books, "Digital literacy' and "Journalism in the past", published by the Communications Registrar Office, Hetauda under the Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, have been launched.

This is the first time in the history of Nepal that documentation of the experiences of senior journalists has been started from the government level in the form of representation.

Minister Khanal said the book, "Digital literacy' has opened many doors and," Journalism of the past", has given a sweet recall of history.

While launching the books at the Office of the Communication Registrar in Hetauda on Sunday, Minster Khanal said that these two books have added a pride element and increased the value of the Ministry and Bagmati Province.

"If we fail to connect to the digital and technology then we will lag behind. Book titled "Digital Literacy" will help to connect to digitalization," said Minister Khanal. He said that this stride has been made by handling the responsibility of the Communication Registrar to the efficient person.

Narayan Sharma, secretary of the Minster for Internal Affairs and Law, said that this creative work by the officer of a communication registrar is commendable, and creative work like this should continue in the future as well.

The contributions of many senior journalists have been highlighted in the book," Journalism in the Past". Experiences of Bhairab Rishal, Narayan Prasad Sharma, Krishna Tamrakar, Laldhwaj Deusha Rai and Ram Krishna Regmi have been included in it.

The facts of history are with these people who spend their energetic youth collecting, processing, and editing news, and we have included their experiences in the book as journalism is also the record of history, said Rewati Sapkota, Communication registrar.

The veteran journalists are living history as they have information from all walks of life. Information with a senior journalist is a witness to history, he said.

The book Journalism of the past includes the experiences, practices of journalism, and challenges faced by the veterans, Bhairab Rishal, aged 94, Narayan Sharma, aged 91, Laldhwaj Deusha Rai, aged 89, Krishna Tamrakar, aged 82 and Ram Krishna Regmi, aged 75.

" The knowledge, skills, and experience of the senior journalists will be the subject to seek out and research on for the new generation of journalists and students of history," highlighted Communication Registrar Sapkota.

" The journalism of the past is the beginning of the campaign to excavate the history of Nepali journalism and pass on those facts and evidence for the future generation."

Communication registrar, Sapkota said that the digital literacy book has been prepared by keeping in mind all kinds of Nepali readers who are interested in digital technology and not only for certain professions or fields.

He said that digital literacy gives information about the digital device, hardware, software, computer networking, internet, intranet, and other internet-delivered services.

The book also presents information about a domain name, website, search engine, social network, video, OTT platforms, e-commerce, digital banking, bitcoin, cryptocurrency, cybercrime, cyber safety, hacking, and cracking.

The book basically gives information and knowledge about the operation and safety of using or making digital platforms.
