By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 31: President Bidya Devi Bhandari
has appointed Janardan Sharm to the post of Finance Minister as per the
recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
According to Dr. Bheshraj Adhikari, chief personal secretary of
the President, newly appointed Minister Sharma will be sworn-in at 5:30 this
afternoon at the Office of the President.
Newly
appointed Minister Sharma had resigned from the post after allegations he
allowed the involvement of an unauthorized person in changing tax rates during the
annual budget formation.
A parliamentary committee that investigated the case dismissed the
allegation as baseless and declared him innocent.
