Bahadur Deuba has highlighted the importance of flow of the fact-based news to
the public saying that falsified news information is a blow to democracy.
Prime Minister Deuba said so while inaugurating the
new building of the national news agency, Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) this
morning.
The PM lauded the RSS for its great role in disseminating
factual news. He said the RSS has played a pivotal role in delivering
fact-based information to the public and thus it has supported the public’s
right to information.
PM Deuba said that the RSS has delivered ethical and
truthful information to the public as mentioned in the constitution.
He said that the falsified news information is a
blow to the democracy of the country, therefore, there is a need to ensure that
the fabricated news is not served to the public.
On the occasion, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister
of Communication and Information Technology, said that the RSS has
established itself as a truthful, ethical institution among the public.
The newly built building equipped with modern technology
is a indicative of how the RSS is adapting to the changing times.
He instructed
that the RSS should adopt the new medium and ways of imparting information for
it to be popular in today’s time.
He said that it is a delight that PM Deuba laid the
foundation stone of the building and he inaugurated the building as well. The
building was inaugurated by PM Deuba in October 26, 2017.
Likewise, Metmani Chaudhary, Minister for Urban
Development said that RSS is delivering quality information with a positive
outlook for 61 years and expressed his expectation that RSS will deliver
socialist information.
Dharmendra Jha, Chairman of RSS, said that RSS is
equipped to compete with the all-new form of delivering information.
He also expressed commitment that the RSS will continue to deliver factual information along with adapting to the changes in forms of disseminating news and technologies.
