Chair Prachanda to take initiative to resolve citizenship related issue

Kathmandu, July 12: CPN (Maoist Center) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has pledged to take initiative to resolve the issue related to citizenship facing Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs). 

In a meeting with the delegation of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) at his residence on Tuesday, the former Prime Minister said, "We had been raising the issues of non-resident Nepali people. Now, we are committed to seeking a solution by passing the bill related to citizenship tabled in the parliament." 

On the occasion, offering thanks to the Maoist Center for its 'efforts in bringing the bill related to citizenship', the delegation urged the party to ensure the rights of non-resident Nepali people by enacting the bill through the parliament. 

Also present on the occasion were party senior leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, NRNA Founding President Upendra Mahato, its Presidents Kul Acharya and Dr. Badri KC, Vice President Mahesh Shrestha and regional coordinator, Europe, Chinta Mani Sapkota and Ramesh Kafle.
