Lightning kills six people across country

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 28: Six people have lost their lives due to lightning across the country. 

Nepal Police have stated that those deceased were from Kailali, Kanchanpur, Rupandehi and Nawalparasi (West). 

During paddy plantation of Malakheti's Redient Gas Company at the Godavari Municipality - 3, Kailali, Puna Ram Chaudhari, 48 of Krishnapur Municipality -5, Kanchanpur killed on Tuesday morning due to lightning. 

Similarly, police have said a resident of Kailari Rural Municipality - 1, Ranamura village of Kailali, Suga Pankhi Devi Chaudhary, 56, has been killed by lightning. She was injured during the paddy plantation nearby her house and breathed her last on the way to the Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi. 

Residents of Punarbas Municipality - 6, Kanchanpur, Dependra Shrestha, 40 and same municipality's ward -8 resident Sharada Thapa, 26, both have been killed by the lightning while they were doing their work on the field. 

Similarly, Ram Nath Barai, 45, a resident of Siyari Rural Municipality - 2, Rupandehi was also killed by lightning during he was working on his paddy field. 

From lightning Marchhi Chaudhari, 60, of Sunawal Municipality- 9, Nawalparasi (West) has been killed. She was injured while lightning hit her during the paddy plantation at the field of her daughter in Ramgram Municipality -10, Laxmipura. She breathed her last at the district hospital Parasi during treatment. 

Police said further investigation is underway on the case.
