By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, June 22: Nepali Congress general secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma on Tuesday met with the Election Commission officials and demanded the arrangement of voting rights for Nepali citizens living abroad.

In a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner, Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, and his team they drew the attention of the constitutional body, to make a decision in this regard as the Supreme Court has already given a verdict about the voting rights of Nepali citizens living abroad.

They informed the body that the NC from its central working committee had taken the decision in order to make arrangements for voting rights for the Nepali citizens living beyond borders.

After the meeting, general secretary Sharma informed they urged the EC to move ahead with the cooperation of different political parties and governments for the formulation of necessary laws and acts for the same.

Sharma said it was not rational that dollars are used here but Nepali citizens living abroad are deprived of voting rights.
