Nature conservation key to prosperity: Chair Oli
Chairperson of CPN UML KP Sharma Oli has said conservation of nature and human being is imperative for development and prosperity.
At a programme organized by the Tulsilal Memorial Foundation and the All Nepal Women Association on the occasion of the World Environment Day here Sunday, the former prime minister said, "If the environmental issues are ignored, development carries no meaning. He reminded that although Sagarmatha Dialogue was proposed during his premiership in 2020 focusing mountain and environment, it was postponed due to COVID-19.
Degradation of environment would pose severe threat to human civilization, according to him.
Chairperson Oli further viewed environment conservation is one of the agendas of SDGs to be achieved by 2030. He further recollected that he had made clear the world community on climate change issues in the Himalayan countries like Nepal with the participation in the global forums.
