Ratnanagar, June 3 (RSS): Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor
Renu Dahal and Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder have held a meeting
today.
In the meeting held in mayor
Dahal's office, the two discussed cooperation and collaboration between Nepal
and Israel.
Stating that agriculture was the mainstay of the national economy, mayor Dahal expressed that Nepal wanted to apply and optimize Israeli agricultural technology in Nepal.
Furthermore, Dahal said that she
was ready to collaborate between Nepal and Israel to develop Agriculture and
Forestry University at Rampur as a research centre.
Chitwan is considered to be ace in
agriculture.
The district is self-reliant in poultry, milk, banana, honey, and meat. A special program has been introduced to develop Bharatpur Metropolis into an agriculture hub.
Mayor Dahal articulated her intent
to maintain sister-relation between Chitwan and Israel to develop Bharatpur
Metropolis as the agriculture hub.
She viewed that cooperation between
the two countries was essential to develop Bharatpur as a beautiful, green and
clean city as well as to create jobs in the agriculture sector.
Similarly, Israeli ambassador Goder
said that Israel was positive for the development of the agriculture sector in
Bharatpur Metropolis.
He expressed his happiness over the fact that Nepal was advancing in the agriculture sector by Nepalis acquiring agriculture knowledge in Israel and applying it in Nepal.
Israel is known as the country that
provides more employment in agriculture by modernizing and commercializing
it.
