Kathmandu, May 31 (RSS): The remains of the 22 people who were
killed in Sunday’s Tara Air crash at Thasang rural municipality-2 in
Mustang have been brought to Kathmandu.
According to Tribhuvan
International Airport (TIA) general manager Prem Nath Thakur, the bodies of ten
were brought on Monday evening and the remaining 12 were dropped at TIA
today by a Nepali Army helicopter. All the bodies have been sent to the TU Teaching
Hospital for post-mortem examinations. They will be handed to the respective
families after the post-mortem.
A committee to probe the crash was
formed on Monday at the direction of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil
Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale.
The five-member committee is headed
by senior aeronautical engineer Ratischandra Lal Suman and captain Dipu
Jwarchan, senior maintenance engineer Upendra Lal Shrestha, senior
meteorologist Mani Ratna Shakya and Ministry joint-secretary Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane
are its members.
A total of 22 people including three crew
members were on board the plane.
