By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 22: As many as 17 candidates of different posts in various
local levels in Nuwakot district could not get even a single vote, most
probably their own vote!

candidates were in the fray for the 664 seats in different local levels in Nuwakot
in the local poll held on May 13.
Of 237
thousand 434 voters, the voter turnout was 70% in the district, according to
Jaya Prasad Gautam, returning officer at the district election office.
Gautam
informed that of the total candidates, 17 candidates did not garner even a
single vote, 12 got only one votes while 13 candidates got two votes only.
Data
shows, nearly 100 candidates failed to get a two digit vote number.
Those who failed to get even a single vote include Tek Bahadur Tamang, independent candidate for vice-Chair in Tarkeshwor rural municipality, Ram Prasad Lamichhane, independent candidate for Ward Chair of Likhu rural municipality-4, Niranjan Ghimire and Saroj Kumar, Ward Chair candidates of CPN (Unified Socialist) for Bidur Municipality-4 and 6 respectively and Jagadish Mahat and Raju Mijar, independent candidates for Ward Chair of Panchkanya-2.
