Army mobilised at polling stations in Sarlahi where clashes erupted

By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, May 13: Nepali Army personnel has been mobilised in polling stations where clashes emerged in Sarlahi district.

Thaneshwor Gautam, Chief District Officer, informed that the army has been mobilised on the front line at polling stations where clashes erupted so violent as to affect the voting.

He said the army was mobilised in order to continue the voting.

Voting in most polling centers in Sarlahi is going on smoothly although clashes have erupted in some places and voting has also stalled.

CDO Gautam said voting has stalled at Ras Narayan Primary School, Shiva Nagar, in Chakraghatta Rural Municipality as the activists of the political parties resorted to clashes there.

Similarly, voting has stalled at Shreepur in Barhathwa Municipality-17.

Efforts are underway to continue voting in these places, according to CDO Gautam.

Voting at Pashu Seva Kendra polling center, Dhanakaul Rural Municipality-2 has resumed again after the army was mobilised in the front line of the center. Voting was stalled here two times due to scuffles, according to CDO Gautam.

Voting has also resumed at the Janata Basic School polling center, Kaudena Rural Municipality-6 after the army was mobilised.

Rains also disrupted voting in many places at day time.
