Online, Kathmandu, May 6: Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sher
Bahadur Deuba has urged the people in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to make
the woman candidate for mayor victorious.
Addressing
a joint election rally of the ruling parties in Kathmandu today, the NC
president urged to people to make victorious the women mayoral candidate of two
metropolia in the country.
As
Kathmandu is also the capital city of the country, defeating a woman candidate for
mayor from our party will send a wrong message around the world, he said,
exhorting the voters to vote for mayoral candidate Srijana Singh.
"I
urge all the people to vote for a woman mayoral candidate in two of the six
metropolitan cities. It is good to award the women who do a good job by making
them victorious," he said.
The NC
president urged the people to vote for Srijana Singh in Kathmandu and Renu
Dahal in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
Prime
Minister Deuba, also NC president, assured the people that the problem of waste
management in Kathmandu will be solved within six months if Srijana wins the
election.
NC
president Deuba remarked that those who demanded the hanging of BP Koirala, the
founding leader of NC, were standing against the electoral alliance of the
ruling parties.
"Some
people in our party are creating obstacles against the coalition. People need
to identify those who demanded the hanging of (late) BP Koirala in the past,"
he said.
