By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 6: Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the people in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to make the woman candidate for mayor victorious.

Addressing a joint election rally of the ruling parties in Kathmandu today, the NC president urged to people to make victorious the women mayoral candidate of two metropolia in the country.

As Kathmandu is also the capital city of the country, defeating a woman candidate for mayor from our party will send a wrong message around the world, he said, exhorting the voters to vote for mayoral candidate Srijana Singh.

"I urge all the people to vote for a woman mayoral candidate in two of the six metropolitan cities. It is good to award the women who do a good job by making them victorious," he said.

The NC president urged the people to vote for Srijana Singh in Kathmandu and Renu Dahal in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Prime Minister Deuba, also NC president, assured the people that the problem of waste management in Kathmandu will be solved within six months if Srijana wins the election.

NC president Deuba remarked that those who demanded the hanging of BP Koirala, the founding leader of NC, were standing against the electoral alliance of the ruling parties.

"Some people in our party are creating obstacles against the coalition. People need to identify those who demanded the hanging of (late) BP Koirala in the past," he said.
