Narendra Modi is arriving in Nepal on May 16.
UNESCO has stated that the Indian Prime Minister has made
a plan to visit Lumbini, the Birthplace of Gautam Buddha, in Nepal on the
occasion of the Buddha Purnima (birth anniversary of the Buddha).
Indian PM Modi is reported to be vising Nepal at the
invitation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during his visit to India on
April 1-3.
It is the first Nepal visit by PM Modi after his
reelection as the PM in 2019.
Prime Minister Deuba is also scheduled to participate in
the programme along with his Indian counterpart Modi.
The Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs are yet to make an official announcement about the Indian PM's Nepal
visit.
An Indian daily newspaper, The Hindu, also mentioned that
PM Modi is visiting Nepal in mid-May.
