Devbhoomi Nepal national campaign highlighted
President Ramchandra Paudel on Monday presented the government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2026/27, outlining that the “Devbhoomi Nepal” national campaign will be conducted to establish Nepal as a centre of global spiritual tourism. While reading out the policies and programmes, President Paudel said that a national policy will be adopted to protect Nepal’s rivers as the foundation of civilisation, culture, biodiversity, and human existence. President Paudel further said that rivers of religious, cultural, ecological, and social importance will be scientifically studied.
Interaction on 'Matipuran' held
A discourse on the anthology of satirical essays 'Matipuran', penned by senior journalist Baladev Thapa, was held in the capital on Sunday. Speakers remarked that the book stands as an exceptional contribution to satirical writing. Addressing the gathering, senior satirist Ram Kumar Pandey remarked that the field of satire holds a prestigious position both in Nepal and abroad. "Thapa's 'Matipuran' further strengthens this genre," he announced.

According to studio estimates released on Sunday, The Devil Wears Prada 2 topped the charts with $43 million (£32.5 million) in its second weekend, while Mortal Kombat II debuted with $40 million (£30.3 million). Women learning musical instruments
Women in Ward- 10 of Bardaghat Municipality in western Nawalparasi have recently been increasingly drawn towards traditional musical instruments. This enthusiasm has emerged following a 15-day training programme on playing the madal and harmonium, organised with the objective of nurturing women’s musical talents while promoting the preservation of art and culture. The training was conducted with financial support from Ward- 10 of Bardaghat Municipality and organised by the Panchanagar Community Development Centre. Most of the participants said that it was their first opportunity to learn to play musical instruments.

Electric vehicles worth Rs. 18.93 billion have been imported into Kathmandu via the Tatopani checkpoint from Khasa, China. Embankment construction intensifies in Susta
Construction of embankments has been intensified in Susta Rural Municipality-5 of Nawalparasi after the Narayani River began inundating settlements every year. The work is being carried out using a new, low-cost and reliable RCC, “Porcupine” technology. 66 per cent of students pass SEE
At least 65.98 per cent of students have passed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in the academic year 2082, an improvement of 4.17 per cent in previous results. While 61.81 per cent student were passed last year. National Examination Board made public the SEE results on Monday night. According to Tukraj Adhikari, arrangements were made to check the answer sheets at the examination centers to publish the results earlier than in previous years.
