Five people killed in wild elephant attacks in a year
Rajbanshi of Bansbari, Belbari Municipality-8, was attacked by a wild elephant when she went to water her paddy field near her house, said District Police Office Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Kopila Chundal. On Thursday morning of the same week, Amit Limbu, 41, of Bhaunne, Belbari-10, was seriously injured in a wild elephant attack and is undergoing treatment at Nobel Medical College, Biratnagar.

IPPAN calls for high alert over flood warning
The Independent Power Producers Association, Nepal (IPPAN) has urged all hydropower projects to remain on high alert for the next three days. The call was made in view of the forecast by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology of heavy rainfall across the country on July 19, 20 and 21.
11 bridges built, 2 under construction on Pokhara-Muglin road
Altogether 11 bridges have been constructed while two remain under construction in the western section (Pokhara-Jamune) of the Pokhara-Muglin Road Project. Bridges were built over various streams and rivers- Myagde Khola, Kumle Khola, Thade Khola, Samdhi Khola, Mul Khola, Phedi Khola-1, Phedi Khola-2, Haledi Khola, Kali Khola in Tanahun district and Katre Khola in Kaski district, according to the Pokhara-Muglin Road Project.
Madhesh govt retrieves 442 hectares of encroached forest land
The Forest Directorate of Madhesh Province has recovered 442 hectares of forest land encroached for a long time. The Directorate shared information that it brought back the land under government ownership from different districts in the fiscal year 2081/82. The recovered forest lands are - 30 hectares in Dhanusha, 174 hectares in Sarlahi, 111 hectares in Saptari, 54 hectares in Bara, 45 hectares in Parsa, 12 hectares in Rautahat, 10 hectares in Siraha and three hectares in Mahottari districts.
2.25-km road built daily last year: PM Oli
