Hetauda-Bharatpur transmission line comes into operation
The Hetauda-Bharatpur 220 kV transmission line has come into service. This transmission line is considered important for the smooth supply of power to Makawanpur and Chitwan, among other districts. The Hetauda-Bharatpur section is part of the Hetauda-Bharatpur-Bardaghat Transmission Line Project.
419 people lose lives to lightning strikes in five years
Koshi Province saw highest 108 deaths from lightning strikes followed by 76 in Lumbini Province, 69 in Madhes Province, 62 in Bagmati Province, 43 in Sudurpaschim Province, 36 in Gandaki Province and 25 in Karnali Province.
178 killed in road accidents in Kathmandu Valley in 11 months
One hundred seventy-eight people were killed in a total of 9,683 road accidents in the Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts) as of June 15, 2023, of the current fiscal year, 2022/23, according to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
