By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 14:The last rites of late Chairman of Constituent Assembly and CPN-UML vice chairman Subas Nembang will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat with state honour on Thursday.
The government has given a public holiday on Thursday across the country to mourn Nembang’s demise.
Meanwhile, the body of the Nembang was taken to his residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday after his two sons arrived from Australia and the UK.
Late Nembang is survived by his two sons and two daughters. Both daughters were in Kathmandu at the time of his passing. His body was in CPN-UML's party office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, all day on Tuesday, and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday. \
At the afternoon, the body was taken to his residence for ritual offerings from his family members.
Family members and relatives will offer religious rituals and last respects to him as per Kirat Mundum at his home. After that, the funeral procession will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat with state honors at 11:00 am.
