International Conference on Electoral Management in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Nov 27: A two-day international conference will be held in Kathmandu from coming December 6 to 7 with the participation of high-level representatives of election management agencies and institutions in Asia and the Pacific region.The 6th edition of the Asian Electoral Stakeholders Forum is being jointly organized by the Election Commission of Nepal and the Asian Network for Free Elections.Heads and representatives of election management bodies from 40 countries in Asia and the Pacific region, civil society and more than 200 representatives of non-profit and academic organizations active in various dimensions of elections will participate in the conference. The conference is being held under the theme 'Building Sustainable Democracy: Addressing Electoral Challenges and Opportunities'. A total of 21 working papers focusing on seven topics will be presented and discussed during the conference that will end with the Kathmandu Declaration, according to a statement issued today by Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the spokesperson of Election Commission of Nepal,.(RSS)

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 27: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is leaving for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on 29 November, leading the Nepali delegation to the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28).COP 28 is being held in Dubai from 30 November to 12 December.The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend High-level Segment of the COP 28-World Climate Action Summit being held from 01-02 December 2023, according to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued today. The Prime Minister will deliver a national statement on 2 December.Prime Minister Prachanda is also scheduled to attend the 52nd Union Day Celebration of the United Arab Emirates and Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony hosted by the UAE.On 02 December, the Prime Minister is hosting a high-level side event entitled “Call of the Mountain: Who Saves us from the Climate Crisis?” to raise voice of Nepal on climate change as well as promote mountain agenda in the COP negotiation process, according to the MoFA statement.In the margins of the High-Level Segment, the Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with heads of state, heads of government and other high dignitaries attending the Conference.PM Prachanda is also scheduled to visit the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, interact with Nepali community and address the Nepal-UAE Business Summit.The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, Minister for Forest and Environment Hon.
