Kathmandu, Sept 12: Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said those parents who encouraged their offspring to join the movement are means of transformations in the society. In his address to a condolence assembly organised in memory of Buddharam Dulal of Naya Naikap, Chandragiri Municipality-14 today, the former Prime Minister said the society will always remember those parents. He said Dulal who encouraged his four daughters, five sons, and daughters-in-law to engage in a socio-political movement was an inspiration to the entire society. Dulal amidst hardships and challenges contributed to the communist movement, he said, adding that such people are always at the forefront of society. The contribution of Dulal, a cobbler by profession, to social transformations was an example of 'class consciousness', he said, adding that he further proved that working-class people are leaders for social transformation. Dulal's eldest son and central member of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Shankar Dulal, said the Dulal family joined the political and social movements during the Panchayat regime due to the inspiration of his father. Party's senior Vice-Chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Vice-Chair Agni Sapkota among others were present at the programme. (RSS)
Kathmandu, Sept 12: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today met with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and major opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.The Prime Minister sat for the joint meeting with the leader of the major coalition partner NC and the Chair of the CPN (Maoist Centre), the major opposition, in view of the preparations for a meeting of the Constitutional Council and discussions on other contemporary issues. The meeting was held in the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, according to the Prime Minister's Secretariat. It may be noted that the Constitutional Council meeting earlier scheduled for Wednesday evening was postponed. (RSS)
