Mingma sets Guinness world record by conquering all eight-thousanders
Mingma Gyaljen Sherpa, 37, a native of Bheding in Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-9, Dolakha, often known as the village of mountaineers, has set a Guinness world record by successfully climbing all 14 mountains above 8,000 metres. He has earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for his feat.
Fixed deposit fund set up to feed cows
A fixed deposit fund has been established to support the sustainable management of the Dhuni Shivalaya Gaushala, a cow shelter, in Kafaldanda, Walling Municipality-8, Syangja. The gaushala, which houses around 150 cows, was set up to protect and manage stray cattle.
Over 200,000 HIV tests conducted at Bheri Hospital
Since its establishment in 2004, the Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) Unit at Bheri Hospital has conducted over 200,000 HIV tests, identifying 1,900 HIV-positive individuals. Dr. Sanket Kumar Risal, Bheri Hospital’s HIV focal person and information officer, stated that the ART service has been highly effective in diagnosing and treating individuals with HIV. According to Dr. Risal, children born to HIV-infected parents receiving ART services have consistently tested negative, which he highlighted as a major success.
Flood-damaged Kabeli Corridor transmission line restored
The reconstruction of Kabeli Corridor 132 kV double-circuit transmission line, which was damaged by the flood of Mai Khola in Ilam, has been completed. On September 28, the flood that occurred in Mai Khola caused damage to four towers in Dhodrebensi located in Mai Municipality-1 and 7 of Ilam under Kabeli Corridor transmission line.
