It is twenty past eleven at night, and I am sitting at my desk with a mug of milk tea with sugar in an attempt to express something important. In the first sentence itself, I mentioned time because time tells us a great deal of things. Because time is so important, many powerful sayings are made with regard to time. To name a couple of them: ‘time and tide wait for no one’ and ‘time flies’. Similarly, quite a good number of famous people have observed time in their own way.
For example, William Penn said, ‘Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.’ Steve Jobs said, ‘Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.’ Benjamin Franklin said, ‘You may delay, but time will not.’ Heraclitus said, ‘Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice.’ Leo Tolstoy said, ‘The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.’ Michael Altshuler said, ‘The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.’ Francis Bacon said, ‘To choose time is to save time.’
I was tired and lying in bed watching some news on social media, only to be stressed and distressed. One of the opposition party’s ‘weird’ activities in the honorable parliament and the ‘deceitful’ undertakings of some people in the judiciary institutions disturbed my mind awfully.
After my stay of over six months in a developed country, what I observed is that for a country to develop, people have to work, and they are allowed to work. In addition, there has to be a system, and people have to follow that system. Further, the leaders who love the country and people are visionary and hard-working. These leaders do everything they can to make the people’s lives better.
In an international airport, a security officer exclaimed, “Oh, you have a new government. Are you expecting a lot of good changes?” I was a bit surprised but very happy to hear the question. “Of course,” I replied instantly and happily, “We have great people in the government now, and they’ll do great jobs.” Hearing me, he nodded slowly and smiled. I, too, flashed back a smile and proceeded towards my jet plane.
We should not forget that the world is watching us. It’s high time we became a developed country. We should now move forward with strong determination and unity. We can’t and shouldn’t go the old way. No, we can’t. No, we shouldn’t. There are so many ‘NOs’ of Nepali people. No more corruption. No more cheating and deception. No more impunity. No more hindrance to development. No more going back. No more turning back.
The time has come for us to develop. The time has come for us to bring positive changes. Therefore, focus on development. Allow development. Let the government work for the overall development of the country. We wasted so much time in the past. We can’t wait for any better time. This is the time to do. This is the time to act. As Napoleon Hill said, “Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” Let’s move forward with hope. Let’s move forward with unity. People and a nation are far greater than ‘dirty’ politics. Let us all focus on development.
