Kathmandu, May 16: The Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers has shared that action has been initiated against an individual who threatened Ward Secretary Kamal Bhandari of Dullu Municipality-13 in Dailekh.
A statement released today by the Office spokesperson, Joint Secretary Hemraj Aryal, states that its attention was drawn towards the release of an audio recording where a person named Prakash Khadka is heard to have misused the Prime Minister's Office name to issue threats and use inappropriate language against the Ward Secretary. Accordingly, relevant security and investigative agencies have been directed to take swift legal action.
The office condemned the act of instilling fear and panic and pressuring civil servants who are fulfilling their duties in accordance with the law and established administrative procedures. "The Office of the Prime Minister is dedicated to good governance, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring the professional safety and morale of civil servants. Furthermore, the office is committed to taking strict action against anyone who undermines the rule of law."
The office has urged civil and government agencies to be cautious and not to be misled if anyone attempts to misuse the name of the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister's Secretariat, or the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers office to threaten, coerce, or exert undue pressure through phone calls or meetings.
All government agencies, local levels, and civil servants have been urged to verify any suspicious phone calls, messages, or conversations through official channels before proceeding with any action response to it. (RSS)
