By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 15: The sixth edition of the one-day National Cyber Security Seminar-2026 concluded at the Nepali Army Headquarters on Tuesday, with Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel presiding over the closing ceremony.
The seminar was organised to strengthen coordination, cooperation and communication among relevant stakeholders amid growing cyber threats, data breaches and security risks posed by artificial intelligence, alongside the rapid advancement of information technology worldwide, according to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DPR&I).
Experts on cybersecurity delivered presentations during the event, while participants also engaged in interactive discussions focusing on various emerging cybersecurity scenarios and challenges.
Representatives from different ministries and government agencies, the Nepali Army, other security bodies, and government as well as non-government organisations associated with cyber security participated in the programme.
Brigadier General and Spokesperson for the Nepali Army Headquarters, Rajaram Basnet, said that the seminar would contribute to formulating national cybersecurity strategies, developing a common understanding on the safe use of technology, and enhancing the security capacity of the country’s overall digital infrastructure.
