Janakpurdham, April 22: The Inland Revenue Office here has collected revenue of Rs 3 billion 976 million 74 thousand in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
According to Anand Kumar Gupta, Head of the office, this amount of revenue was collected as against the target of collecting Rs 4 billion 338 million 277 thousand in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, 2025/26.
So far, a total revenue of Rs 3 billion 976 million 704 thousand has been collected, including Rs 1 billion 149 million 452 thousand from income tax, Rs 31 million 899 thousand from property tax, Rs 61 million 785 thousand from interest tax, Rs 819 million 420 thousand from value added tax, Rs 1 billion 888 million 571 thousand from excise duties, Rs 310 thousand from health service tax, Rs 1,000 from education tax, and Rs 25 million 266 thousand from other sources, Gupta said.
Meanwhile, stating that the process of action has been initiated against 125 business firms that did not report revenue on time, Office Head Gupta said 10 business firms paid Rs 43 million after the notice of action against these firms was made public.
There are 166 thousand 652 taxpayers registered with the Inland Revenue Office.(RSS)
