Kathmandu, April 15: Emphasis has been laid on increasing number of female journalists writing on the issues of international relations and diplomacy.
At a programme organised by Media Advocacy Group with collaboration of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung here today, speakers have stressed the need of encouraging female journalists to write on the issue of diplomacy.
On the occasion, Vice-President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Nitu Pandit shared that the number of female journalists writing about international relation and diplomacy issues is only six per cent.
Similarly, Chief Editor of Gorkhapatra Daily, Junar Babu Basnet, pointed out the need of encouraging more female journalists to write on diplomatic issues as there are limited female journalists writing on this issue.
Stating that 'news room' without inclusion becomes incomplete, journalists Shanta Gahamagar underlined that it is necessary to change editorial opinion.
Likewise, Editor of Republica Daily, Kosh Raj Koirala underscored that an arrangement of training on diplomacy issues should be made for women as well as the bodies concerned should be serious to make them resourceful.(RSS)
