Kathmandu, April 6: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Dol Prasad Aryal, has vowed playing a neutral and coordinating role so that parliamentarians in HoR are behaved equally.
Chairing the very first meeting of the HoR since his election as Speaker, he expressed hope for support and cooperation from all quarters to promote good constitutional practices by utilizing the parliament as a venue for effective performance.
He said that he had taken his election as an opportunity to fulfill responsibilities towards promoting good governance and economic development. "People have sent us here with a mandate to achieve good governance and explore economic development in the spirit of the Gen Z movement," he said, adding that they must not miss this opportunity in any context.
The Speaker also called on lawmakers to work in a planned manner, honouring the commitments and promises made to voters during the elections, treating them as political agreements between the parties. Aryal also thanked all those who decided to elect him to the post unopposed. (RSS)
