Shram Sanskriti Party's General Secretary calls on Home Minister Gurung

Khotang, April 3: General Secretary of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Aren Rai, who also won the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Khotang district, called on Home Minister, Sudhan Gurung, on Friday.     

The lawmaker visited the Home Minister at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar, urging him to take measures to strengthen peace, and law and order in the district.     

In a memorandum submitted to the Minister, Rai urged the renovation of security infrastructures, including the Area Police Office at Baksila Bazaar and police beats in Chhitapokhari and Bhandareghat of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality.     

He also called for transforming all temporary police beats in the district into permanent ones, and for establishing permanent police posts at Patheka in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-10 and Sungdel in Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality, Rai told RSS.     

Through the memorandum, the lawmaker from the mountainous district in Koshi Province also urged the government not to implement the “official” decision to remove the Armed Police Force base camp at Chisapani Bazaar of Jantedhunga Rural Municipality.     

As he said, peace and security are key priorities for citizens, and he raised the issue during his meeting with the Minister. According to Rai, the Minister’s response was positive.     

Security infrastructures at Baksila Bazar, Chhitapokhari, and Bhandareghat are said to be in dire need of renovation.     

The district, comprising 10 local levels, has four district police offices (A), two area police offices (B), 19 permanent police beats, and 10 temporary police beats.(RSS)
