By Shankar KC, Salyan, April 2: Five people have sustained injuries when an auto-rickshaw met with an accident near Kimuchaur in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-4 of Salyan on Thursday.
Police said that two of the injured are in critical condition.
According to the District Police Office, Salyan, the accident occurred at around 11:20 AM when the auto-rickshaw bearing registration number (temporary) (Madhesh Province 03003 Sa 4015), which was en route from Kimuchaur to Mulpani. T
The vehicle went out of control and fell about 150 meters down a cliff from the road.
The injured include the driver, 38 year old Tikaram Rana of Kimuchaur, Kapurkot-4, 72 year-old Dil Bahadur Sunar, 38 year old Sagar Airi, 44 year old Top Bahadur Airi, and approximately 52-year-old Safi Ahmad, a utensil seller originally from Uttar Pradesh, India.
Police said that Sunar and Ahmad are in critical condition, while the condition of the other injured persons is moderate.
With the help of police and local residents, the injured were rescued and taken to Kapurkot Basic Hospital. Among them, four people have been referred to Nepalgunj for further treatment.
Police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
