15-year-old boy dies in house fire in Jumla

By Netra Shahi, Jumla, March 28: A 15-year-old boy Kshitij Khatri, died after a fire broke out in a house in Tila Rural Municipality of Jumla on Saturday night.

According to the District Police Office, the incident occurred in Tila Rural Municipality–3.

Police Inspector and Information Officer Nirdesh Baral said the fire is suspected to have been caused by a lit candle inside the house. 

However, further investigation into the exact cause of the fire is ongoing.

Khatri, who had been preparing for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE), was sleeping alone at home when the incident occurred.

Police reached the site at midnight after receiving information about the fire. The body has been sent to Karnali Academy of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination.
