Kathmandu, March 25: The Nepal National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs, an umbrella organization of transport entrepreneurs across the country, has demanded fare adjustment in the transport sector.
In a press release today, General Secretary of the Federation Deknath Gautam said that there is difficulty in operating public transport due to the increase in the prices of diesel, petrol and other fuel. Following the latest increase in fuel prices, the Federation had drawn the attention of the Department of Transport Management and demanded fare adjustment.
The Federation has said that it will not be possible to operate the business at a loss for many days and that the service will have to be closed or the option of self-declaring the fare as recommended by the department to adjust the fare should be adopted.
General Secretary Gautam also said that if the fare is not adjusted according to the scientific method, he will request transport entrepreneurs across the country to operate the service by charging the fare as recommended by the Department of Transport Management.(RSS)
