By TRN Online, Kathmandu, March 24: Mamata Mridul,
reputed short story writer, has been felicitated with honorary doctorate.
The Mahabir Prasad Hindi University and Research
Corporation, Raebareli, awarded Mridul with the doctorate title at the
Nepal-India Literary Conference held recently in Varanasi, India.
Jointly organized by Pragati Sahitya Manch, India,
and Charu Sahitya Pratishthan, Nepal, the three day Nepal-India Literary and
Culture Friendship Conference was held at the Poddar Building in Dudh Kunda, Varanasi.
About three dozen literary figures participated in the
conference.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Harendra Harsha,
chairman of Pragati Sahitya Manch and Dr. Ghana Shyam Parishrami presided the
programme while Dr. Devi Panthi, chairman of Charu Sahitya Prathishthan, was
the chief guest.
A session on short story was also held during the
conference. Run under the leadership of Mamata Mridul, the session saw short
story writers of Nepal and India telling their stories.
A collection of short stories entitled Sanglo (cockroach) authored by Ramendra Koirala was also made public in the programme.

Charu and Gajal were also presented by literary figures from both India and Nepal in the function including by Dr. Ghanashyam Parishrami, Radha Neupane, Devi Panthi, Radhika Panthi and Inu Paudel.
