By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, March 23: A car with an Indian registration caught fire following a collision involving two other vehicles at Kalinjor Bridge in Lalbandi Municipality–6, Sarlahi, along the East-West Highway on Sunday night.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:45 PM when a car bearing registration number (BR 01 PM 8833), traveling from the east, rear-ended a bus (Madhesh Province 04–001 Kha 0156). The car then attempted to flee the scene by reversing.
While trying to escape, the car collided with an oncoming pickup van (Province 2–02–001 Cha 0117), which led to the fire.
Police Inspector Birendra Singh Johari, chief of the Area Police Office, Lalbandi, said the fire caused damage to the front portion of the car. However, no human casualties were reported in the incident.
The fire was brought under control by police personnel and locaLs.
Police have taken all three vehicles and their drivers into custody for further investigation.
