Elderly couple dies within hours of each other in Saptari

By Binay Karna, Kalyanpur, March 21: An elderly couple from Rupani Rural Municipality in Saptari district have passed away on the same day, just hours apart, leaving the local community in shock.

The deceased have been identified as 70 year-old Phuleshwar Sada and his 65 year old wife, Durgibati Sada, of Chapki Tole, Rupani Rural Municipality -4. 

According to ward-4 chair Chedi Ishar, Phuleshwar died at around 2:00 AM, while Durgibati breathed her last at approximately 6:00 AM on Saturday, just four hours later.

Durgibati, a member of the Musahar community, had recently undergone hernia surgery at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan and was brought home a few days ago. 

Due to her fragile health, Phuleshwar had been taking care of her and monitoring her condition closely.

Following the couple’s demise, the entire neighborhood has been left grief-stricken. 

Ward chair Ishar expressed heartfelt condolences over the loss.
