Six persons injured in lightning

Gulmi, March 20: Six persons have been injured in lightning incidents occurred at various places in the district. 

Goma Khadka, 32, Niru Khadka, 28, and Bishnu Khadka, 29, from Darling of Malik rural municipality were injured in the lightning occurred at 2:30 pm on Friday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Ganga Bahadur Saru, informed that the injured ones were sent to the District Hospital, Tamghas after general treatment at a local health facility.

The thunder bolt also killed some goats belonging to local Bishnu Khadka and Bali BK. A security team led by Inspector Lakhan Lal Chaudhari reached the incident site after receiving the information on the lightning.

Similarly, Narayan Thapa, 64, and his two granddaughters (under 6 years) from Hwangdi of Malika rural municipality-3 were injured in the thunder bolt. They however returned home after general treatment at a primary health centre.

A goat was killed in the incident, the police added. Further investigation into the incidents is underway. (RSS)
