Helicopter crashes in Khotang, one injured

By Raj Kumar Bhattarai, Khotang, March 18: A helicopter from Kathmandu crashed in Khotang District on Tuesday afternoon.

The helicopter belonging to Air Dynasty met with an accident at Balabesi of Kharthamcha of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-2.

According to the District Police Office Khotang, the accident occurred while the helicopter was attempting to land in a field.

Police said that the helicopter initially landed at the edge of the field and crashed when it was lifted again to reposition it to the middle.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Budhathoki said that one passenger, Kaji Bahadur Rai, was injured in the incident.

A total of six people, including pilot Sabin Thapa, were on board the helicopter at the time of the crash.

Police said that preparations are underway to airlift the injured to Kathmandu for further treatment.
